I don't know if my cory is getting enough to eat from what my tetras miss (I feed them once in the evening with flakes, frozen shrimp, or a frozen pea) but he has little or no interest in his shrimp pellets. When I turn the tank light off, I drop a pellet in for him, and he noses it around a bit and sometimes appears to eat a little, but I always end up fishing it out because he just leaves it - I've even left it in over night before and it still doesnt get eaten. One day he actually ate one, but I am tired of fishing them out the rest of the time.....I have a deep tank and short arms, I get wet past my elbow if I cant get it out with the net. Should I just forget about feeding him in addition to what floats down from the tetras or should I try every other day....every few days....???

I had this same exact problem with some pellets when I first got my corys. I tried a different kind and they seemed to like the new ones I got. They are Hikari sinking wafers. Theres a picture of a cory cat on the front of them.

I forget who said it, but "1 is the loneliest number when it comes to cories." That said, maybe since they do school, you should get a second. Mine always seem to do better when I have at least 2 together. Good luck!

^I agree. 3-4 would be even better as you have plenty of room for more. Get him some friends and you'll see him perk up quite a bit.

Thanks for the advice. I plan to get at least one more, but Ive only had my tank six weeks, so I am waiting for my nitrite/ate levels to balance. Probably this weekend I'll be ready to add more. And I will try a different type of food yet and see if we can perk this guy up.
