Do you think 2 oscars, 1 jack dempsy, 1 green terror, and 2 convicts are too much for a 125? I currently have the 2 oscars and the 2 convicts, but I want more color in the tank so I figured the gt and the jd would help with that. It has 2 fluval 404's on it, and possibly a third on the way.

It could be done, but you would have to be religious about water changes. A wet/dry filter would help tremendously.

What about a blue acara? Do you think that would be ok with the convicts and oscars? I've heard acaras can be aggressive, just not as aggressive.

I had a pink convict in my tank before. It was one mean mofo, it was about 4inches and it chased a 8inch pacu all day. It seemed to be a very territorial fish it wouldnt let any of the non-cichlids go near his corner of the tank. A 125gal would be fine with all those fishes, just do a water change once a week.
