I have 2 cichlids that I am tryiong to ID to no avail. The LFS told me I had a:
Kenyi that looks like an Aurora
& a
Red Zebra that looks like a Orange Chromide
Is there any distinguishing markings etc... that would tell these apart? or could someone recommend a website that may help with this identification.
Any help is apprecaited.

If it doesn't swim on a coral reef, you won't be getting much help in this forum. :) Moved to Cichlids...

An auratus will have horizontal stripes while a kenyi will have vertical ones.
A Red Zebra and an Orange Chromide have similar colorings, but should have very different body shapes.

Shows pictures off all 4 fish on the same page...maybe that'll help.

Thanks for the info and link, much apprecited. I think it is a Kenyi although this link mentions an aurora or gaurora, that also looks similar to the kenyi.

The Fish started out a medium purple/blue and is now a light light purple with pale yellowish fins. It's definitiely aggresive (it "takes on" the Auratus) and is now 2".
Any ideas?
