I recently got a chinese algae eater and my friend told me to get algae wafers. i did but i don't really know much about it. can someone tell me how many wafers to put in or how many a week and whatnot. and how will it affect my angel fish and tank if at all?

First off i would really watch the CAE around the angels. I had a couple a while back, they were fine at first but then they started to try and eat the slime off my angels and gouramis. As for feeding vary between zucchini(sp?), and algae waffers a couple times a week (2-3).

i had the same problem with my chinese in my wife's tank (haven't talked about it on here yet, i'll get to that). and it has since "disappeared" in my bluegill tank. not just hiding, because there is algea EVERYWHERE. don't know what happened to him, but he was a bit of a jerk anyway.
i recently read that as they get older they eat less and become more annoying (not really aggressive, just a pain).
we bought two gold algea eaters that, according to what i've read, will continue to eat a lot throughout it's life and is a much more playful fish.
