So far everything is thriving in my tank, even some sponges, all levels are great. I'm working on Nitrates (10), new sump/fuge, chaeoto, etc., etc.

When I got these about a month ago, they were fine, standing up straight and looking fantastic. (like the ones in Daves tank but not quite as big) After about the first day they've looked like this. They don't get any better and haven't gotten any worse. The white color on the middle one was there when I got it and hasn't changed or spread. Once in a while they will stand up with their stalks showing but most of the time they are kind of FLAT :( The guy that I got them from said they should have multiplied by now, his are spreading like crazy. I have them directly under a Coralife light, 10000k and 96 watt actinic. My calcium is over 400.

Any help and or suggestions would be much appreciated.

They look OK to me. They may take a while to settle in and multiply. They may be flat because they are getting more than enough light and don't have to stretch.

Thanks Dave!

I never considered too much light. They are easy enough to move as they are on their own piece of LR. I'll try moving them to a lower spot and see what happens.

my mushrooms were the same - I put them mid tank under two 250's and they shrank right bank. I then moved them lto the bottom of the tank but still in full light - still the same. Finally I put them under an overhang out of direct light- Bingo the came right out and look fantastic..

I moved mine to the bottom yesterday. Believe it or not, they already look more full. They're not standing up yet but definately looking better. If I move them back about 4 inches they will be under an overhang as well. I'm going to see how they do where they are now for a week or so. I'll take more pics to show any positive results. I guess they are more like regular mushrooms as far as light requirements :) I wonder how they would taste on a pizza?? :p

If you're putting them on pizza, you should at least have some sea grapes for dessert. Or maybe a pineapple platy.

I like a good seafood pizza!! Mushrooms (real ones) Peppers, fresh garlic and clams/shrimp/mussels, etc. **** now I'm hungry!!

Mushroom update:

Since moving them to a lower location in my tank, my shrooms are looking better, at least more full. The best news is I have two little ones growing next to one of the larger ones!!! They are still not standing upright like they did when I got them. I might push them a little closer to a shaded area just to see what happens. I don't want to upset the little ones that are starting to grow though.

Pretty soon, they'll be overrunning the tank! I wouldn't fuss with them too much, they can adapt to a certain extent. They can even move to a better spot, leaving a trail of babies.
