:( OK, I saw this young snakeskin discus at the LFS and I saw this little divit on the top of one of his eyes, but he was so drop dead gorgeous in all other ways that I got him (but I did get a discount, though now I'm wondering if it was enough). Looking on line it looks like he has a "chipped" eye and all articles state to "AVOID, AVOID, AVOID". This is a pitty since he looks like he'll turn out to be a gorgeous red with fine blue lines :( :( . Is this a genetic trait that can be passed down? I got another snakeskin without the deformity with him, but the color on this guy is not as gorgeous, but maybe will turn out the same since he/she is from the same batch? Another thought, if they are related, would the clear fish carry the possibility of passing the chipped eye onto their babies? What are the reasons that the articles I've read tell to avoid this deformity?? This is really making me feel bad that maybe I should have followed my judgement and walked on past him, BUT HE WAS SHOWING SO MUCH POTENTIAL IN OTHER AREAS! :thud:
