I've always had a cloudy water problem. No mater what I do it's always there. When I add carbon to my filters it does seem better. I think I've tracked it down to my hot water tank. I use some hot water when filling my tank to maintain the temp during water changes. It does seem to be cloudier

So, I want to purchase an inline filter for water changes. I've tracked down some RV filters and was wondering about one of the brands and the below statement..

"It has a 25 micron filter disc to remove sediment, granular carbon for taste-and-odor improvement, and it includes KDF to make it bacteriostatic."

What is bacteriostatic and is it something I need to worry about? Should I look for another brand without this?

Okay, well I guess I'll take my chances that if this filter improves drinking water that it will be safe for my tank..

This means it inhibits bacterial growth including good bacteria. If your just filtering the water out of the tap it shouldn't have lasting bacteriostatic properties, just don't make it part of the tanks filtering system.
