I know FL Knifemaker has, but has anyone else purchased live rock from Tampa Bay Saltwater? I read the customer comments on the site and looked at the pictures of their rock and my mind was blown! The rock was gorgeous. The price seemed pretty good, as well, only $6/lb for rock with coral!

My boyfriend is kind of scared of an octopus hitching a ride and destroying his anemone. I know FL Knifemaker, you brought home two of them, right? As much as I would love to have one, I don't think his tank would like it quite as much... :p

I'd like to hear any experiences with the company.

If all sounds well, we're planning to make a little roadtrip to the other coast of FL and give them a Saturday visit, hopefully coming home with some awesome LR.

My anemones were the only thing the Octos DIDN'T bother!!

I now have #2 octo in a container and he'll be off to a new home tomorrow. There have been other reports of Octo Hitchhikers but now that I'm an "expert" on catching them, I won't worry about future TBS purchases. :D The real downside is loosing an entire crab population and some rearrangement of your aquascaping!

It's well worth the trip, especially if they have some nice rock in stock. Make sure you call ahead before you make the trip.

I am planing on a trip (8 hours) to TBS the first of the year and you have all helped me tonight termendously! Thanks. I will set up a special 135 snf hopefully figure a way to QT my rock before putting it in the 265!~

I've set up 2 tanks, a 20 and a 90, with TBS rock. It's very nice rock, with lots of things on it. A lot of the wildlife doesn't make it the first year, and you will have to deal with unwanted hitchhikers like mantis, whelks and hairy crabs.

Most of the hitchhikers in the sticky in the newbie forum were on TBS rock.

Ron,

MAKE SURE YOU CALL AHEAD!!!! Then call when you reach Tampa :D I live less than an hour away and it can sometimes be hard to catch them at the store!! It's all worthwhile though.
