I've got all of my algae problems taken care of a couple months ago, but now I'm dealing with cloudy water. Not green, I took care of the green cloud algae. Not white so I don't think it's a bacterial bloom. It's more like sediment that the filter won't remove. I'm using a fluval 304 with the output flowing into an old HOB filter (this cuts down on the current in the tank). The bottom basket in the canister is filled with poly wool and so is the HOB filter. In the upper two baskets in the canister is BioMax. After going through the foam, then the poly wool twice, I would think that even the smallest particles would be removed. The intake hose is on one end of the tank and the return is at the opposite. I just want my crystal clear water back, any help is appreciated!! Thanx

Head out to the LFS and pick up a bottle of water clarifier. It'll cause those tiny particles to kinda clump together so they'll get caught in the filter. If that doesn't help, try feeding really sparingly for a few days. I had really cloudy water for a while, then I went away and told my mom to only feed a little bit once a day. When I came back, the water was crystal clear. Since then I've gone back to feeding normally and no cloudy water.

Yeah I got the same problem too. I do a water change, and the water will stay crystal clear for 3 days then it starts to get cloudy again. Maybe I need a stronger filter system.

I used a product like that I think it was called crystal clear or something like that. It worked to get most of the algae out, but it never did get the water perfect. I'm going to cut back on the food, lights and re-dose that stuff for a couple days. thx.
