I recently purchased 2 tomato clowns, a rose anemone & 2 cleaner shrimp. I actually flew it back from florida to newfoundland canada. 3 days from the date of purchase to its new home. A cleaner shrimp sucumbed before arrival & the female clown also died after being in the tank for 3 days. The remaining have adjusted very well.

After 4 days I began to notice fish 1mm in length swimming around the lower sections of the live rock. I thought maybe eggs were laid in the anemone & that is where these fish came from that have hatched in my tank.

I would like any advise about the mortality of these hatchlings. Is it possible they would survive in the tank? What could I do to assist in their survival? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Boy, you've got something interesting there. Have you added any live rock lately (especially uncured?)? And are you sure their fish? Often small shrimp, like opossum shrimp, can look like fish when young (to the naked eye).

I've never raised clownfish fry, but you probably should look very quickly into getting a marine rotifer culture (or at least a frozen rotifer mix) if you want to raise these things. Baby brine shrimp look like watermelons to clown fry and they can't eat them for a couple weeks. Be careful of pumps, they may suck the fry up in it.

Keep us posted- this is cool.
