Well I am still deciding with what I want to do with my 55 gallon, while I am slowly filling it up with decorations and setting everything up to be just right I cant decide on the fish. At first I wanted to get aggressive fish, and Convicts were on the top of my list and then populate it around that… Now I am thinking of having community fish, and thinking of actually sticking with that idea.

At this point I am thinking of getting a few Neon Tetras (thinking it would look nice a group of these guys swimming around), a few Angel Fish, Clown Loach, Silver Dollars, and the rest I am open for suggestions. I am looking for something nice looking and with some nice colors would be awesome too.. any suggestions? And how many do you think of each I can stick in a 55 gallon?

I hope you are fishless cycling your tank to get it ready while your decorating it? :)

Angel fish eat neon tetras in the wild, so probably not a great idea to put them together. Angel fish would be nice for that size tank though, but not sure how many would be too many, so I'll let someone else answer that for you.

Clown loaches are wonderful fish, but they get rather large and like to be in groups, so not really a good fit for a 55 gallon. It's unfortunate too, they are pretty awesome. There are several other types of loaches that are interesting that will fit well in there depending on what else you decide on getting.
