Looks good. I like the shade in there. Do you have a black background to try?
I like it. What did you use to contour the substrate? Is it just how you spread it or is there something to hold its shape?
thanks guys.
djlen - that little blur under the driftwood is a german blue ram. beautiful little bugger. there's an otto in there somewhere as well.
80gjoe - the background is painted black. or very, very dark grey...
ger - that's just how it sloped itself. it's schultz aquatic potting soil which is extremely light. i probably should mix some gravel in there.

I like it, it looks interesting... What other plants are you planning on adding? I'd love to see pics later on.

Looks good...I am in the same boat so to speak. Working with a 5er is fun. Plants that need space to grow and for affect could be the sole in this sort of tank. Are you going to let the plant in the right hand corner grow and stay with a minimun number of plants? This could be a very pleasing to the eye.

i'm actually moving the setup into a 5.5 all-glass. i like the shape better. i purchased an anubias nana, so the general scaping is going to be modified a bit. i'll have pictures withing the next few days.
