Hiya

I have noticed that i occasionally get white / grey things floating in my tank and have just sussed that the 7mm plastic airline is 'shedding its skin' - the 'skin' just floats in the water then either gets sucked up by the filter or the fish go at it as if it is food then ignore it when they realise it isn't!
As the tank is fairly newly established I only have 6 Neon Tetras in there just now and they seem to be pefectly happy and the skin does not seem to have any detrimental effect. I was wondering if anybody else had experienced this and if it is something I need to worry about.

Thanks

Stu

That is probably a biofilm that has been accumulating on the inside of the tubing. It is pretty normal and shouldn't hurt your fish.
