Well, here we go again. Didn't all this just happen a little over a week ago? :(

Those of you out west and in the lower midwest, be safe from the Ice. As for the others (like myself in the central midwest), we are expected to get 8-10 inches of snow.

All that other snow from before has just finally completely melted here in Michigan. Weather was in the upper 50's to low 60's which is extremely rare for this area in January!

Some winter we're having... :thud:

In the Kansas City area we are supposed to get around 1" of ice, then an inch or two of snow and then more ice by Wednesday morning. I'm glad i brought my laptop home tonight so i can work from home tomorrow if need be. Everyone be safe tomorrow if your going to get any bad winter weather.

we're getting just enough spittings of snow to melt and freeze into ever smoother sheets of ice on untreated, untravelled roads and sidewalks here  makes riding my bicycle the 2.5 miles to school interesting...
did a 360 on my bike on a bike trail I made the mistake of takeing, I had to put my feet down half way through that. yes I know it sounds odd but I'd rather ride my bike on the slippery stuff than try to walk the same

Really? I'd have thought you would all want some sunshine... with all the rain and cloudy days you experience! :o :D

Right now (it's 7:15 am), we have about 2.5 inches of snow on the ground and a thin layer of ice was on my car windows. Locks to my car all frozen shut. It took a long time to pry the doors open.

That's the storm that came through here yesterday (I think), and it wasn't as bad as they predicted. We got about half the snow they forecasted, though it is bitterly cold still today (some areas had windchills of -50 yesterday!) and not supposed to warm up until Friday. No ice here, but between here and Denver got that yesterday--very unusual for out here; made a mess out of the highways.

Well i braved the drive into work today. After 3 cans of windshield de-icer and 45 minutes of letting my car thaw out, i finally got to start my drive to work. Highways weren't too bad though, department of transportation did a good job (for once). Only took me about 15 minutes longer than normal to drive in.

I hate cutting grass (which is why I haven't done so in 15+ years) so doesn't hurt me... although I'd love the weather. ;)

It's quite warm today for this time of year and will be for the rest of the week. We'll get a few more frosty mornings before it's over but that's about it. I actually like when it's cold here!!

I just got the boat off the water just a little while ago. :D Spent the whole morning on the river. I'll have it out a few more times over the next week or so. :p

It is still shorts and tank tops weather here in Houston. Ran the A/C last night. The yard is ful of fallen leaves and mosquitoes. We need some real cold weather here.

We now have about 5.5 inches and the snow is still falling! They are calling for another 3-4 inches over night.

Semi off topic... but the best way I've found to avoid wasting time/money on deicer for the windshield is as simple as a flat bed sheet.... spread it across your windshiled with the "tails" in the doors to hold it down flat on the glass, lift the windshield wipers to let the sheet under them.... you can do the same for the back glass as well. Keep one with you when you go into work so that you don't have to spend 20 minutes chipping the ice off after work too.

We're not getting anything so far of the mess those of you in downstate Michigan and Ohio are getting right now...even though we are in a warning until 6pm est tomorrow... stay safe!!

We're in a winter weather advisory at the moment. Though, really, I've been thinking this winter doesn't seem right. We've got no snow, and I can't recall a day I needed to wear a hat, or scarf, or mittens. Last time this year, I remember freezing my butt off just walking to my car, all the while stepping in feet of snow. Then I'd have to come in and have tea or cocoa just to get the body temp back up. It was actually warm some days this week and I had the porch doors open! I'm waiting for the doozy that must be coming. The ocean keeps us warm - but not this warm!

They say we'll get some ice tonight. We had one ice episode a few weeks back that happened rather unexpectedly. When we got home from a different part of the state, we had 35 foot birch trees around the driveway that were so weighted down with ice that they were bent in half and their tops were stuck to the ground. I always feel bad for them when I see that so of course before I went in (this is at 1 am mind you), I was shaking ice from all of the trees and yanking on them and watching them shoot back up like a spring.

This past sunday it misted in the afternoon, but it was warm out. We went out around 8 that night to do some grocery shopping and I about broke my neck once my foot touched the outside stairs. It had gotten cold out quickly and the rain had frozen into a perfectly smooth cover of ice everywhere!

Yeah this winter has been something for us too. We've had weather in the upper 50's and even low 60's for a day or two last week. I am not complaining though, as I cannot stand Michigan’s winters which is why I plan to relocate some place warm in the near future.

Right now, as I woke up this morning we have about 8.5 inches of snow on the ground. It took me 25 minutes or so just scraping the ice off my vehicle.

I can't wait to use heat's "bed sheet" trick...... :)

It is a neat trick. Most people here just use black trash bags....

I swear.. I will never ever complain about 50* weather during a Michigan winter again in my life!!!

Awoke to 3.5 inches of snow with another 3-5 still to come and looked at the prospect of doing my 45 minute commute to work and possibly getting stuck at work in the mess coming ... needless to say I took a snow day. ;)

Todays total is 7.75 inches on top of my car. And the bloody snowblower gave me attitude.... but it straightened around after some percussive therapy.

You can send some of that snow my way, just a touch mind you, too much of a good thing and all that, our weather has been unseasonably warm for this time of year it is supposed to be in the upper 50's and 60's all week here. It has been that way with just a day tossed in here and there in the 40's. Very strange weather for us. My lawn is still green  and one of my rose bushes got confused and was blooming last month

No snow here, but I swear we are getting an inch of rain a minute, it has been pooring all day here. Even new, well designed streets with lots of drainage are about flooding.

California got 140% more rain than usual in 2004, and 2005 is shapping up to be the same.

I'm becoming sorry I mentioned that we had no snow. After our last little storm the first time I posted, it's snowing again today! It's not a lot of snow (and most of the 4" we got the other day melted) but it makes driving such a pain in the butt!
