Okay, so I got my Hornwort Wednesday. Gave it a bleach dip in 20:1 (water:bleach) rinsed, yada yada.

Today that thing has shed like... near half of it's needles. The Wisteria that got the same bleach treatment has already perked up and is looking lush, but this hornwort is polluting my tank! Is this just an after-affect of the trauma of moving to a new home and the bleach dip, or should I ditch it now and save myself the hassle of cleaning up the other bunch of needles? Will this plant perk back up and regain its beauty?

Nevermind. As I was doing a water change, those @$%&in' needles were actually so thick they clogged up my Python gravel cleaner and I had to take the whole thing apart and pick out the frelling things! Needless to say, that Hornwort just earned a one way ticket to the trash can. I used a net to get most of the needles out, but I still see plenty floating around. The power filters are sucking them up though, so I may just pull the foam later and rinse and grab what I can see again. Anyway, forget Hornwort for me.

Hornwort is really delicate and usually doesn't react well to bleach dips. If you do want to risk a bleach dip, I would only dip it into the 1:19 solution for at MOST 1 minute
