I want a powerhead for my tank for extra circulation. What are some good one's that are big enough for my tank?

NJ - depends on how much current you want. I went with a Maxi-Jet 1200 (295gph) to drive my undergravel jet system.

The Saltwater folks on another board spoke highly of Maxi-Jets for reliability (many of them use them submersed to create extra flow for thei corals and live rock)

Thats the thing, I'm not sure if I really need it because I don't know how much everything is circulating now. I have an 11.1 turnover rate, that's prety much all I can tell you. In your opinion, do I need one?

You're circulating nearly 800 gph? What are you keeping in the tank?

Right now nothing, but some day I hope that it is a lot of something.

Wooo, 800gph is a whole lot of flow. Not sure with that much flow from your pump / filter you need an additional powerhead.

BTW, what pump are you using to generate that type of 11:1 turnover?

The filters are doing 800 gph, to 800/72= 11.1

I have a 72 gallon also ,with 3 large Dempseys that are messy eaters . I run 2 magmun 350s and 3 penguin 1140s ( just for moving water) . That is 1600gph per mfg specs. None of the other fish Bala sharks ,Earth eaters or the small columbian teras seem to mind .
