I just want to introduce myself here. I started keeping marine aquariums in 1986 and I shut down my last tank in 1995. I just started a new 75 gallon tank last week and my, how the technology has changed! 
My old tanks were bedded with dolomite over an undergravel filter, and filtered with big Magnums. My new tank had a aragonite bed (looks GREAT!) with a wet/dry filter and a protein skimmer. I'm still on the steeper side of the learning curve with the new filter setup.
I have 6 damsels in the tank now to run it for a while. I'm not going for a reef tank - I just want the fish.
It's GREAT to be back in the game!!!!
