My tank is about 6 weeks old now, and I have some nice brown algae on the glass and LR. THe cleaners are doing a pretty good job with it, but I remember someone on here telling me to add some macroalgae to help out. I really don't want something that will overrun my tank, so what kinds are very beneficial AND also easy to control? I really don't have any fish that would feed on it, so control is the big issue, and also a refugium is no where in my budget right now so forget that....

You can make a refugium cheaply by converting an Aqua Clear 500 HOB filter into a refugium you can use to house/grow macro algae. Google for it, you'll find the how-to.

I know it may be easy, but still out of the question right now... Plus down the road I plan to convert my current setup into a refugium for my 135g that i'm planning.
Anyway, I was looking at the "shaving brush" plant, and some of the Caulerpa to put in my tank. I've been told that they are good for the tank(nitrate reducers), and relatively easy to prune/control. How would these work, and where can I get them from online??? My LFS never seems to have any...

Foster and Smith often have caulerpa packages for sale, as do Inland Aquatics and Garfs.
