You can send it to me!!!:D

Actually welcome to AC.

I'm not sure on your fish keeping experience, but I would suggest reading everything you can on cycling a tank, types of fish you want to keep, filteration, etc.... This would be a good start.

I totally agree with tyler.

1. read up on cycling.
2. set up that tank and start cycling.
3. while you are cycling, surf around to find out about options for fish etc.
4. decide what you want.
5. study everything you can about the fish you've decided on.
6. continue to wait for you tank to finish cycling.
7. get fishes when cycled

:D

have fun!!
Huy

PS congrats on having such wonderful co-workers

first figure out what fishes you want then get everything else according to what kind of fish you picked.

280 GALLONS!!!! Way to go!!!!!! I envy you. I can imagine what kind of fish I would consider putting up a tank that large.

Wait....do I wanna go FW or SW with this one?

Hhhhhmmmmmm....decisions......decisions.......:D

What are the dimensions of the tank? You can get to 280 gallons with a couple of sizes, and length vs. depth vs. height would affect some possible recommendations.

A 280 gallon tank with 3 air pumps? I am hoping that he donated some filters, heaters, etc. or else you are still looking at some serious cash to get that thing running...... not that I would EVER give it back.

Have fun.

Yea, that will be some serious dough. I wonder what he did with everything else.

First you need to figure out how much load the floor can bear. It is going to weigh a lot... like way over a ton... probably closer to a ton and a half. Most floors cannot support that kind of weight without being reinforced.

Also, make sure it doesn't leak before you put it in your livingroom ;)

Have fun. Partial water changes are going to be around 90 gallons  Hope you have a strong back :D
