Initially I thought this was just a standard cory madness thing. Now I'm not so sure. My albino cory (female I think) has been non-stop swimming up the corners, across the face of the tank and back again for three days.

10 gallon, cycled, she's been in since the start - back in May. Tankmates are three tetras, two guppies (both female, one is adolescent), and two recently added yamato shrimp.

I can only think of two possibilities: she really doesn't like having the shrimp in the tank, or she's bored and wants friends of her own kind.

Any other ideas?

I'd go for the boredom thing. they like company of their own kind. If you have room for about 3 (at least) more albino cories then i think that would keep her happy.

Agree she'd probably like a friend or two. However, I do find my albino cories are a lot more hyper than the bronze even though they're the same species.

My albino cory skitters across the front of the tank in overdrive, back and forth, every so often. She has 2 others in there with her. I think its just an energy burst. I find she pops to the top faster, and more often than the others as well. Different strokes for different folks?

My albino cory does the same thing, constant motion. Did you happen to check internet on this species? If not, check out

I believe this is typical for a cory cat. They're so cute!!!! :o

My albino cory is definatley more active than the bronze or peppered. But she is also blind. I find that she is most active before she lays her eggs.
