Anyone have a good way to lower my PH? My KH is way high and it restabilizes my PH at over 8.5. We are on well water and have recently started having problems with the PH.
We are running two tanks. One 36 and one 46 gallon.
We are using two completely different substrates in each tank as well as different kinds of decor(ie. slate vs stones)
I am losing my live plants and also lost a couple Angels.
These are both established tanks.

One easy way to do it is to use part tapwater and part disitlled water. Of course this can be pricey for larger tanks and if you have to lug water home from the store it can be a pain.

Perhaps and alternative would be for you to keep fish that thrive in such high pH conditions. Rift Lake African cichlids would be a great choice as would live bearers such a sguppies and mollies. Or else with the addition of some sea salt you could easily convert to brackish water tanks.

If you really want plants then your tapwater just isn't going to cut it and you will need to either instal some sort of filter system or else dilute with distilled, IMO.
