I have a fluval 404.
For the filter foam, 2 pcs. The cheapest I can find is like 4.00!
2.00 for a 4" x 12"(aprox) pc. of foam! This is ouragaous!!
Does anyone know where I can buy a roll of foam that I can cut
to fit that will work?
Thank you everyone.

Considering that fact that the foam hardly ever has to be replaced I do not see $4.00 at being a lot of money. Just keep removing the old one and rinse it out.

If you could afford the filter why can't you afford the foam?

If you go to a fabric or upholstery store for foam, the material you get is likely to be treated with flame retardants - which are often toxic for fish.

Get the real stuff.

Thank you! Its not that I can't aford it. Its just that I think its a lot of money for faom. And thats for telling me about the fabric store! I was conteplating that but felt the foam there didn't have the same density of air holes. So I will stay away.
