Pelvicachromis spawns.. so many kids!

Well, its been quite a roller coaster for me and fish lately. I lost a whole bunch of important fish at work, then had a friends fish come down with a strange cyst like infection (still clearing up) and now.. all my fish are doing the fishie love dance. ?? Life is strange sometimes.

I had my Pelvicachromis pulcher (kribensis) spawn on the same day as my P. taeniatus and my P. subocellatus followed suit a day behind. Now all the fry are free swimming, and it is starting to look like quite the baby factory around here!

I'm wondering if the growth rate for all these separate species fry is similarly slow? Kribensis have never been fast growers for me, even when they had their own 40gallon for a single spawn. Anyone know if the other species are slow too?

I'm kinda tempted to experiment here and take a few fry from each spawn and 'transplant' them to another species fry clutch. I wonder if the parents would notice. Hmmm.

PS: Last night I was rearranging plants in the kribensis tank and I was talking to my fiance and not watching the tank. Well, the daddy Krib got brave and rammed/bit my hand.. it felt like a rock had hit me! I screamed so loud my next door neighbor came knocking on our door..

Mom is hiding with the second set in the pot.. now I just need the fry to hold still long enough for a decent macro shot!
