Floating plants with an overflow filter?

I have a wet/dry filter with overflow - anyone have any ingenious way of keeping floating plants? The nice thing is it filters out any duckweed I accidentally introduce but my water sprite just butts up against the overflow screen :(

Clear zip ties? I have heaters on either end of my aquarium as well as filters (I like redundancy, can you tell?) so I have options at either end of the tank. Using a clear zip tie very loosely just to hold the plant in place would work wonderfully, I'd think.

I have an overflow filter too, so I'm interested to see what other people come up with. Harlock's suggestions for the zip ties wouldn't work for me, my aquarium (also a Seaclear system 2, the 50 gallon size) has the heater in the back with the rest of the filter asembly. But I'm thinking that maybe one of those suction-cup feeder clips might be something you could anchor the water sprite to somehow.

Great question, biotoper!

Thanks for the idea, Harlot. Like ambrosiamonkey, my heater is in the back. All I have near the surface of my tank is a piece of driftwood and my digital thermometer cord. Since my tank back is black, I think black ties might be less noticeable. So maybe I'll try a ziptie cord loosely around the water sprite leaf stem and the therm. cord. Once the sprite starts reproducing, it might look pretty funny, all these plant lassoed to the cord :) I wonder if I could tie them together like a long chain...
