Need help w/ sick fish.

My mother in law has two goldfish. They have come down w/ something (fungus?) that looks like spikes growing out of their body. Can someone tell me what this is and how to treat it. Thx.

COULD BE dropsy, but that is a stretch to even guess. I am just mentioning what comes to mind first, so please take it for what it is worth. I'm afraid we'll need more info (and a picture if possible) to help you further.

I'm wondering about anchor worm :eek: but we still need to know ........
Tank size
Filtration and whether the tank is cycled
Water parameters - Ammonia, NitrItes, NitrAtes, Ph, Tempertature
Water changes - how much how often

and how long you have had the fish :D A piccy would be great, two would be brill :D
