I am inquiring about the minimum size tank I should get for a african cihclid set up. Also, being I know nothing about this fish except they are aggresive and look cool, could I use live plants. What kind of enviroment do they like? If anybody has any input I would like to here from you. I have 2 tanks already One a 55 and one is a 20. Both are very peaceful with the 55 being a fully planted with pressurized c02 and stuff like that. Consider myself more than a novice with the tanks I have but probbably a rookie with the aggresive set up.

Thanks in advance for the responses.

I would say use the 55 if you want a good tank size, but any cichlid likes to dig and will uproot plants that are not duct taped or superglued to the ground;). live plants can be used but they need to be secured to driftwood or some other heave object, and still may become dislodged from time to time. look through the speceis profile and get some ideas of what you might want. you could keep more fish if you stay with smaller varrieties. They will all want some sort of hiding place, be it rocks wood or large plants.
