hello everyone, i'm new to the site. i have a 125 gallon that i am about to set up (freshwater community fish) and my question is regarding gravel. after a certain amount of time, no matter how i had it sloped when it was set up, the gravel always evens out. i wonder if there is any way to keep this from happening, without having to go in and do it with my hands every day. i just don't like the way even gravel looks. i read somewhere (i forget where, which is why i'm writing this post) that if the bottom of the tank is not flat, then the gravel won't be flat. such as placing large flat rocks down where i want the gravel to slope upwards and nothing where i want there to be less gravel. my real question-are there any household items that could be used instead of rocks? some kind of plastic or something? thanks a lot, and it's nice to meet you all.
