So i have my second tank setup, i am going to start off and move one of my rainbow sharks into it, how can i go about doing this?

Can i just use my jug to fill with tank water then put him in then simply transfer?

Do i have to use a bag and sit him in for 15 mins, its the same temprature, both 26C.

And what about feeding, he will be the only one in there for a few days, so obviously if i feed, it will have to be a tiny bit, and when shall i feed, like normal or give it 24 hours?

Thanks!

As long as the water parameters are close (same water source, no drastic differences in pH, GH, etc), just moving him directly over will work fine. I've done this with many fishbetween my tanks with no problems. I don't use nets though--too often fins get snagged in the netting. I use a clear jar or tub, and herd the fish in. They never come out of the water, and there's less trauma.

I'd feed just a small amount, like you normally would. Start a bit slow--if the fish doesn't come out and start eating, don't add any more, just wait til the next feeding. He won't starve, and might be a bit skittish in the new tank for a few days.

One tank has been set up for a month now, the nitItes were very high but its been 7 days and now they have settled down with the daily water changes, i might get him in a clear jug with his water that hes in at the moment, then let it float in the new tank and every 5 mins add a small amount of the new water for about half an hour, sound ok?

Ok i will do this then, ill see how it goes, hopefully this wont stress him and he wont die :(

Looks like a Succes so far, hes exploring the tank but looks just fine, ill update in the morning :)
