I'm so happy I found this site. I really need some advice.

My husband and I recently purchased a vintage(30-40 yrs. Yes it holds water..lol) glass hex tank. It's really unusual because it is set into a rattan frame and has a rattan stand and pointed dome lid. It is very "tiki" looking. I wish I could figure out how to attach a picture...maybe later. It came with an undergravel filter, but don't want to use it. Because the rattan surrounds the entire tank at the top, it would be impossible to hang a filter on the side. We have chosen to go with an internal filter rated to 55g and supplement with a sponge filter if needed.
Our dilemma is what type(s) of fish to stock it with. We are interested in the following species: discus, angels, gouramis, rainbows, and possibly going brackish with monos or puffers. We would really like some "showy" fish, but don't want to get in over our heads. Any stocking suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We have been doing our research, but information varies from source to source so we are still unsure. Can't wait to hear your suggestions, cautions, opinions and/or advice! Thanks a bunch in advance!!

I wanted a showy fish too, but from what ppl have been telling me if you want a community setup, don't go with Discus or Angels, but if you go with angels alone I don't see why you could'nt care for them. Just make sure the filter is'nt too loud or it will kill the fish because of stress I read before

No idea how you would go about finding it, but I THINK in the pictures of memebrs tanks or in someones avatar I seen an EXACT same tank as what you are describing, maybe someone else can jump in on this and help point you in the direction and find out who has it and what they did with theirs for filtration setup etc.
