I'm thinking of keeping a Certain Plant Material in my 55 gallon aquarium, I assume most know what i'm talking about, I am an extreme Plant enthusiast is the only reason I have it, so I figured it would beautify my tank.

Anything it would do to the fish or the water that may be harmful?

if the plant isn't aquatic or a marsh plant that can produce underwater leaves it won't live in your tank.

if the plant is terrestrial it will die in your tank though it might last a few weeks befor disintegrating.

Must be thinking of the wrong material but weed(s) that grow on land won't grow underwater as SnakeIce said.

"I am an extreme Plant enthusiast is the only reason I have it,..."
 That's a good one!
Sounds like the "I'm an extreme female enthusiast that's why I have a girlfriend with me" that my wife didn't buy either! :thud:
