ITS EVERYWHERE! ITS LIKE 5 cm long! I wanna get rid of this before it's too late! Its already on most of the ornatments, completly taken over a plant. and starting to wreak havoc on the gravel. HELP ME stop it before it starts growing on the fish!!!!!

I have the light on from around 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM is that to much?

I feed them once daily, and sometimes give them bloodworms in the evening as a treat. Any advice would be appreciated. thanks!

Yes, 14+ hrs is too long even if you're growing plants. cut it down to between 8-12 for plants or just during the time when you're around for a non-planted tank. Also, how much wattage do you have?

i have the same porblem adn i hav ebeen told the light duration will have little affect, the best way to solve this is to add extra nutrients so your plants wil out compete with teh algae, a recommendation by someone was flourish excel

i hope this helps

That's true if you're going for a moderately to fully planted tank that can outcompete the algae for food. Leaving the light on for 14hrs in a lightly or non-planted tank means crazy algae bloom. Even with a fully planted tank, there is no need to have the light on for 14hrs, 12 is more than enough in most cases.
