as of now i have a 20 gal high tank filled with live bearers. im also in the process of getting a 55 gal cycled. i want to use the 20 gal for just the babies and birthing. i think that maybe java fern might be a good idea, but im still VERY new to the plants. i havent really had a chance to find out the up keep and the different types of plants. any suggestions for the 20 or even the 55 if it wont be too hard, will be greatly considered. thanks in advance for the replies!
amber! :)

Plants are not so hard. Basicaly, a good growing medium. I used sand with a base of latrite n my 25g. Enough light....(hard to do with the hoods most tanks come with) I glued a 20 watt 'bright stick' inside the front of my Hagen hood to get more light. Makes opening the hood a bit heavier however! I just used aquarim silicone to glue the little holders into place. Taped reflective tape inside the cover and popped it in.
I have a 2 litre Co2 do it yurself, bubbling into the intake of my aquaclear filter. It pings a bit when the bubbles hit the impeller, but that's how I know its working. The pic in my avatar is my aquarium :) I've never liked it better since this.
