I have my guppies in a 10g tank with a betta (now moved) a while ago I posted about how my pregnant guppy died, she had red spots on her belly. Now two of my others are swimming funny, they can't use their tail fin? And seem to be a black/grey colour, what is going on?? I have them in the tank by themselves and I put the other two in my main tank, I also noticed that one of the males is missing some of his tail but i'm not sure if it is related or if the betta had a nip at him.
Any advice??

Tank has been running for a few months - at least 3. I have tested for ammonia and nitrites and they are both normal. I don't have a nitrate test kit.
I had 4 guppies and 1 betta in the tank, 1 plant and a few ornaments. I do a vaccum clean with 20% water change once a week - every Tuesday.

Sorry to hear about your loss of guppies, my friend seems to love them too. Just wondering where did you get them?? Could it be parasites or something? Well I guess its bad news for my friend I'll have to call in and talk to my local marine biologist friend tomorrow.

hmmm.. I am not sure about the red spots on the fish. I have never incountered this issue. You do your water changes, and water quality is good. It could be poor diet? hmmm or something in the water or just Age itself in the Guppies. I have found the commmon guppy is now becoming the lowest quality of fish. They just do not seem to last long any more. I even have problems with my stocks. I personally would love to get ahold of wild stock guppies. I will have find someone who has some. :)
but It could be just quality of the fish itself and its age.

I've decided to give up on guppies, two of them ended up dying, I put the other two healthy looking ones into my community tank. Now i'm in the process of cleaning out the entire tank and starting the cycle over again :(

Galaga-girl :bowing: Dont give up guppies.
I would not give up on Guppies. I would look and see if there is a fish club in your area and there is. I would try and get some fish from a local Breeder. You will get hardier fish this way than your local fish store. And also its a great way to meet new friends who will help you with your fish. Another type of Live bearer you will enjoy is the Endler. It is distantly related to the guppy and they are so pretty.
Here is an image of a pretty little male.
