I just found out that someone I work with has a 200 gallon african chichlid tank. When I said I wish I had a 200 gallon tank, he told me he would sell me the whole thing (homebuilt stand, all the equipment etc...) for 800 US. Is this a good deal? What would something like that cost retail?

I recently bought an All-Glass 210G aquarium for $730 (after taxes). The stand i built cost about $50 in materials.
I'd say if everything is in good shape that you're looking at a good deal. Oh, and that tank is really heavy.
