I just recently decided to get a sw tank set up and im bad w/ fish compatibility in sw, i was thinking a fuzzy dwarf lion w/ a flame angel and a moon wrasse. how does that sound as for compatibillity. and thats all i want in the tank most likely, how would that work. I know the fuzzy is compatible unless it can fit the fish in its mouth, and i know a flame angel would be nice and wouldnt hurt anything. I want to know how the moon wrasse would do. And how common are they, i know at the lfs the have one but he is older and i want more of a baby. how common are they.

probably one question the more knolegeable people will wanna know is how big of a tank are u going to house them in?

and i've read that most lions can fit up to 3/4ths there size in their mouth...
just a thaught...

good luck

Well i know now that i can only have a 26 bowfront ( wanted a 55) but ik i can still house that cute little fuzzy lion and probubly the flame angel, i just want to know now, what kind of fish can i have w/ my fuzzy dwarf lion in a 26g

I might be wrong here but i think you will find the Moon wrasse will grow far too large for a 26 gallon tank.

The dwarf lion gets too big for that size of a tank... Its a messy eater and you will quickly find out that keeping the water parameters good is very difficult... please reconsider!

check out some cardinal fish, green banded gobies, and there are alot of inverts that would make a tank that size really interesting. i have a buddy that has a 29, and he has a bangai cardinal, green banded goby, a percula clown, fire shrimp, skunk cleaner shrimp, about 10 scarlet hermits, 10 blue leg hermits, some snails ( i dont know what kind ), and a few mushrooms in it. with everything being a different color in a tank that small it looks really nice. just some suggestions.

well yes you can keep it in there... but its a hell of a pain to keep the tank clean!!!! They are very messy eaters and are a large bioload... water changes and optimum filtration is the only way you can do that... also I still think its small... they can get 7 inches and they like large overhangs to hide under. Can you fill all these needs in a 29 gallon... eh maybe...

Just backing up what fish first says with a small addition . Yes you can keep him in there but, it's going to take a LOT of work keeping your conditons ok . You wouldn't want to add anything else to the tank with him except for maybe a clean up crew which he may or may not eat. These guys can eat other critters that are up to 1/2 of their body size . Anything else that could live with it would overload your tank IMO. The lions as a group are very hardy interesting fish and he might make it under those conditions for a pretty good while but, there is a lot of difference between living and thriving. You might be better off following Jessie's advise or getting a larger tank if you can.
