I finally got goldfish!

YAAAAH!! I finally got goldfish. :D I got a single female black ranchu tonight. She is currently alone in my new 120 gallon tank. She is quite cute :) .

Remember, we're here for you if you should have any questions about stocking a tank (60g per GF is fine, since they are messy eaters...) and tankmates, food etc. Now, have you already ordered your food from Goldfish Connection???

Seriously, though, why only one and how do you know it is a female? Did you get this one specifically from a breeder, and if so, is that your plan? Now, 40 tetras in a tank, none get named. A single GF in a tank, she must have a name. Well, what is it???

Ya I know, lol.

I know that it is a female because I got her from a person here in Toronto that deals specifically with goldfish, I asked him and he told me. I got only one for the moment because I want to build up a collection of high grade fancy goldfish and I did not see any others that he had that really interested me. I am planning on eventually having 4 or 5 in my 120 gallon tank. About the Pro Gold food I did buy it from this same person and I will try it tonight. By the way she does not have a name yet, I am hoping that a name will come to me soon.

Hmm...I've always liked "Goldie" as a name for goldfish, but it just might not apply here :).

Congrats GFF, on living up to your screen name...now, to follow suit, I should get a Mini Dachshund or something for my dorm room, eh?

Thanks Childawg. I have always liked the named Goldie as well, but I just can't bring my self to name her that since it is such a common name for goldfish. By the way my ranchu does not have a name yet, I just can't think of a good name for her yet.
