How much current?

I was wondering how much current a Lionfish would need/want to be happy. I realize they are fairly sedate fish that don't swim around a great deal and often hang out in one spot but I have been watching mine and it'll stay in one spot for a while and then move and look as if it's trying to find somewhere else to hover without being in the current. I'm wondering if I should relocate one of my powerheads so that the entire surface of the tank isn't effected by the powerheads/skimmer/filter currents. There's not a GREAT current but should there be a still area where the Lionfish can go to just hang out?

Thanks

Lions do like calm areas. How much current do you have and what do you have for decor in the tank. More than like ly will be better off adjusting the powerheads to get good surface agitation but you also need "eddies" for the lion to sit. Try moving the powerheads down and point them upwards toward the surface. Dont get stung, it hurts :D

Thanks, I'll try moving the powerheads lower and aiming them up instead and see if that helps.

I have 30-35 lbs of LR and it is aquascaped in the center of the tank so there are 2 open areas (one on each side of the rockscaping). There are large pieces of rock and small pieces of rock that make up several different sized caves and ledges. The Lion was using them when he (I say "he" because I don't know how to sex these fish and it just looks like a "HE") was first put in the tank but since he seems to have gotten use to the tank he seems to "float" around the middle of the tank mostly and looks like he's trying to sit on top the large cave but can't stay planted.

I'm gonna try moving the powerheads today and see if that doesn't make a difference for him. Thanks.
