Quick question, I was thinking about builiding a new 2 buld hood for my aquarium do i could get more light output since I havn't seen any bulbs the my lfs over 20watts.
I am currently using a 18watt Sera Blue Sky Bulb (12,000 kelvin)
i came across these
http://www.bigalsonline.ca/catalog/product.xml?product_id=23787;category_id=2907;pcid1=1843;pcid2=
Im wondering would a bulb this bright work in a normal light fixture?
I wish i could be more specific but this hood came with my aquarium and i dont know much about it.
I assume it is a T8 fixture since the bulbs are no more then a inch around.
I see no stickers on my light saying a maximum wattage.
what do you think. could it work? What could happen if in fact my fixture could not support a buld this intense? Would it burn out? Fail to turn on? Cook my fixture?
