I recently bought a 5 1/2" "white piranha" the store called and told me they mis-marked it. Anyway i would like to know how fast it will grow, what to feed it, and compatable species. Any replies would be appreciated, dont email them please.

Thanks and check out me and my friends website. Im Colin

They grow SLOW, maybe 1 inch a year if you're lucky. No tankmates, they'll kill ANYTHING you put in there, even plecos aren't safe. I've tried numerous things with my 3.5 inch rhombeus, and nothing has made it past 20 min in there without loosing it's fins and scales. He's kept alone now. They are very shy until they hit 7-8 inches long, then they become a bit more outgoing. Feed them on feeders (quarantine them first), frozen foods, pellets, raw fish fillets/shrimp, etc.

The less feeders you feed them, the better. Black pirahnas are usually harder to get on prepared food than spilos and red bellies, but definitely not impossible, be patient.
