I am completely new to African cichlids, but I really like the electric blues. Are there several types of electric blues? Also, what size aquarium would you need for 1 male and 2 females? Just Curious.

These are really nice fish, memebers of the haplochromis family. They require larger tanks, and for these guys i would say at least a 55 gallon. With them you can add other haps, such as a type of aulonocara (peacock), and/or yellow labs (labidochromis caeurleus) or P. acei.
The idea about 1 male 2 females is excellent as they are harem breeders... and actually the more females the better if you are serious about them breeding. This also prevents one female from being harassed.
