My Juwel internal filter has got a 400l/hour pump. I got one of those Air Venturi things cos it was only two pounds and is meant to improve oxygenation. The instructions that came with it were useless (non-existent infact), but i figured that it attaches to a hole in the intake manifold (after removing a little rubber plug), and twists around to stick out of the top of the filter box. I then twisted the top bit so that a hole appeared, allowing air in. But when i turned the pump back on the outlet output hadn't changed.

Now, whenever i do a water change, and the level in the tank drops below the main filter intake slits at the top of the box, loads of littes bubbles come streaming out of the outlet. I assume its meant to be like this all the time, but that something is stopping it when the tank is over the intake slits, like increased pressure maybe?

If anyone knows whats going wrong and/or how to fix it, i'll love ya forever
(but only platonically!)

Also, does anyone know why my Juwel aquarium manual warns against the use of airstones in their aquariums due to the risk of capillary leakage? I don't even understand what they mean, let alone why an airstone would cause it. Cheers
