Just wanted to share some pictures of my blue rams and their fresh eggs. This is the first time I've had fish breed:

Here is a pic of the eggs. They laid them on the gravel so it is hard to get a good pic. I circled them.

Here is the mom:

Here is the dad defending the eggs from another male:

Here is the other male ready to attack. He is very jealous he didn't get to fertilize the eggs. His partner is still to young so he wants this female to be with him...

**** those are nice.....makes me wanna abandom my plans for my yellow labs and get some blue rams

I change the water once a week and other than that I don't do anything. They are hardy if you do frequent water changes. My best advise is once things are working don't change anything. I kept trying to breed apistogrammas like caucatoides, but they kept dying on me even though I did maintenance. I think they are just delicate.

These rams seem very hardy and healthy. They have all the aggression of other cichlids but they never hurt each other (only chase). Just make sure you get a few to spread out the aggression. I started with two males and one constantly chased the other around all day. With two pairs they spread it out so they get more rest.

Also I made sure my males and females came from different sources so there is no inbreeding. The males are wild caught and the females are from a breeder in Florida. I used two different LFS's.
