Hi there,

I'm curious about how concerned others are about pesticides when feeding fresh veggies to fish. Is it something to worry about? Pretty much all the fresh produce we buy (except for organic) has come in contact with pesticides. Is it an issue to use this produce for feeding fish? I know some veggies are more risky than others (carrots for example...even for human infants it's recommended to use organic to avoid pesticides). Is some produce a better choice because of this? Thoughts?

i wouldnt worry overly much about pesticides as long as you rinse it off the veggies before sticking them in your tank because they will be clean enough for people to eat and should be clean enough for your fish especially if you rinse them off first.

Except I do worry a little bit about pesticides on my food...more so when my kids were much younger (and they're still very young!) I would think that pesticides are a bigger issue for small fish where even a small amount could accumulate and be detrimental to their health.

That said, I've got a non-organic zuchinni that I'm so tempted to slice up and feed to fishy. :)

Considering where pesticides go when rain hits fields, I imagine fish can handle what little may come from the pre-washed veggies you introduce.
