I had three albino corys in my community tank. I have had them for three months. Tank is sufficiently cycled, 25% water change weekly, penguin 125 bio-wheel AND 170 bio-wheel. No ammonia, no nitrites, insignificant nitrates.

This afternoon when i got home from work, one of the albino corys was dead on the bottom of the tank. It look as if its gills were brown or dark red. Any idea what might have happened? Another one is looking more sluggish then it ever had, as all three had been very active in the tank.

I have just added two otos six days ago. That is the onliy change in the ecosystem. Thankns for any help.

cories are generally hardy fish however they are suseptible to many diseases in the aquarium and once they get sick its tuff because they are also extremely sensitive to traditional medicines extremely. the adding of new fish may have also brought with it a disease also many parasites will settle to the bottom where the cories generally are!! ie the dilema i suggest getting some medicine but use it at half or three quarter strength also the gills red suggest a parasite infection also to control bacteria the medicines re very strong so i use a teaspoon of salt per gallon it will help with the bacteria and is not a detriment to your tank get some meds mate!! have dose with partial water change and take more time to treaT THEM
