The univalent radical NO2 is exactly what it is.

How big of partial water changes are you making?

3 gallons

Hmm. Assuming some displacement for substrate and decorations, 3 gallons is pretty significant, not quite 50%, but approaching it at least. Tell me about your feeding schedule?

half teaspoon of freeze dried blood worms 3 times a day

Thats a bit much, do it once a day i say.

Well, that could certainly lead to som of the pollution. A half teaspoon is a staggering amount to me. I don't feed a half teaspoon of flakes per day, much less three times per day and I have many more fish than you do. Try and cut that back to two tiny pinches of food morning and night and I think with some major water changes, somewhere along the 50% range a few days in a row and you should see that come down significantly. You should also look into some variety in their diets. The betta can live on three tiny little betta pellets a day, for instance. I mean, these things ar less than a millimeter in diameter. Actually, I have a betta and three ghost shrimp all living on that amount right now.
