Hello everyone, I am looking for information on how to effectively disinfect new plants? I am going to order new plants and I would like to know some good methods to insure that the plants do not introduce anything harmful to my fish. Thanks.

I personally don't dip my plants into anything to disinfect. If you are worried about possible pathogens, or whatnot coming along with the plants, put them in a Q tank. Much like what you would do with fish.

I was thinking about that. How long would you suggest that I quarantine the plants?

Two weeks minimum. To be on the safe side four weeks.
Some people dip into a solution of 19:1 bleach. 19parts water, 1part bleach. But the quarrentine is much less radical if you have patience.
If you don't want snails, pick up some Alum at your pharmacy. 1 tsp. per gallon of water. You can soak just about anything over night in this mixture. Will kill all snails
