Ok, here's my problem. I've got a 29g with a few plants and would like to get more. Doesn't sound like a big deal but I'm new to the Cleveland area and don't know where to buy stuff. I could go mail order but I'm a student and the budget is tight and I don't want to throw away that much money on shipping. If anyone from the Cleveland area could help me out I'd be eternally greatful. The places I've gone so far have a lot of difficult plants and never have any of the easy stuff like javas. Anyway here's my plea for help.

I would look at petsmart or get the phone book to find local pet stores. It really varies where you go, but petsmart has a good selection at a decent price where I live. Target plants that will multiply so you don't have to buy so many. Just let them take over on their own.

You might start here looking for a specific plant:

Make sure you get plants that are in your light range. And a DIY Co2 reactor may be helpful, but plants can be grown without it.

If you ask your local pet store, they will usually special order something for you. This way they deal with the shipping cost.

If you target fast growing plants, you can easily have a planted tank. Most bunch plants are fast spreaders.

Yip, Phone Book or internet Yellow Pages are great. My LFS never seems to have what I want in stock, so I ask them to order it. So long as I get the order in before Monday, I get it the following Wednesday. This way I get exactly the plant I want and no shipping!
