It depends on what you plan to do with it and what kind of conditions you are going to grow it in. When you asked this question duckweed/pondweed comes to mind, but if you want a more structured plant I would say I've had the most luck with my Amazon swords - but then you probably need a tall tank and a bit higher light than the norm - so what are your conditions? I'm sure someone else could tell you what you're looking for if they knew your tank specs and preferences for growth habit, etc.

Yeah, give your tank specs and thaat will help a lot. How much light you have is very important.

I'd say Java Fern is the easiest plant I've grown. It grows pretty slow, but I just let it float all around my tank. It seems to go wherever it wants anyways.

Tie several bunches of JFern to a piece of driftwood, place it under the lights, and let it go. JFern has grown in every tank of mine, except for one that's just under 1WPG (only crypts are doing well in that one).

java moss, period. i didnt want mine anymore so i put it in a jar by the window, no special light and the water must have been like 40 degrees. its still alive.

Java fern.

I keep it in tanks that have little to no lighting and it does fine.

In fact I get all kinds of little plantlets that I take and sink or let float at the surface.

Java fern is the hardiest plant I have ever encountered. I've kept it in coldwater and warmwater.

Anubias is pretty easy
all i did was tie it to driftwood, its roots are growing fast and its putting out new leaves

Java fern and Anubias are quite easy. Low light and not picky at all.

I've had a lot of luck with Amazon swords as well, even though my light is only 1.5 WPG in a 10 gallon aquarium. They've been thriving for more than 2 years. :)

OMG yall are forgetting (IMO) the most invasive aquatic plant of all !! CAMBOBA !! don't use this plant in any circumstance it's as bad or worse than duckweed! It roots like mad & spreads like wildfire & clogs inlets with it's needles.Never flush this stuff .Ive found it in every waterway Ive ever seen.

Anubias and java moss are up there. But when you mention the dandelion of plants I think of hornwort, Ceratophyllum demersum. One of the fastest even under low light.

Try some Crypts! Low light, easily maintained. DO a little research first to match with your water quality.

In my limited experience, (1 year with plants) my Anubias are my toughest plants, but they are very slow growing. My fastest growing plants are Hygrophila polysperma and Ludwigia repens.

Java fern, anubias, java moss and crypts pretty much take care of themselves.

I'd say the easiest I've kept are hornwort, anubias, and java moss. Contrary to its reputation of a fast spreading weed, duckweed doesn't do well in my tank...

Cabomba I spelled it wrong . what melts aquatic plants faster than anything is fast flow. keep plants away from spraybars & they will do @ least better.

My platies never gave the cabomba a chance at anything. If you have platies, stay away from cabomba, they'll eat it faster than it'll grow and you'll have needles swimming all over the place. I really don't know if they eat it or if they just enjoy pulling all the needles from the stems. I mean they were nonstop. It's quite entertaining, but frustrating if you're trying to get it to grow. I still pick some up every now and again just to watch the platies go at it. I don't mind the needles too much, just make sure to clean up after them. My little platies!

Amazon swords...definately. Mine are huge and I have never supplemented with anything in the tank they're in. Big beautiful leaves...all covered in snails. :)
