Can clown loaches be kept with plants? Some pople have said no and others have said only when they are young. So I'm just looking for a few more opinions.

Also, would three of them be a good fit for a 38 gallon tank? It says they are schooling fish. The only other fish I have are 10 zebra/lepard danios. I am thinking of getting a few otos too.

Given the max size of a clown loach I would say that your tank is too small for them, especially since they like to be kept in schools. Clown loaches won't eat your plants its just that they like digging in the gravel so much they will dislodge the plants particularly when they get bigger.

I have accused the clown loaches I had of nibbling on the new anubia shoots. Before the leaf opened, the ends were nibbled on. I had removed all other fish except the rummynose and cardinal tetras to get to the bottom of it. So I guess I can't be absolutley certain it was them.
