alright well, i have been pondering that when i get my next community tank what small cichlid should i put in, i just wanted to know what you guys advise, i was thinking bolivian rams or german blue rams
 
I've only had experience with bolivian rams, I'd have to agree though that the german blue's are more colourful. Yet one must consider the sensitivity of those rams.
 
There are certainly a wide assortment of Apistogrammas you might wish to consider. Some are quite colourful and full of spirit.
 
Apistos.
Apistogramma 'borellii' and 'viejita' in particular.
 
just in case you are still looking, I voted for bolivian rams, simply because less people have them. But really, I would go apistos
 
germans arent that much more complicated... i do nothing special for them and I have them spawning. they stay smaller than bolivians, but I find bolivians to be very ugly. Nothing can compare w/ the diff apistos though... except maybe the price that goes along with them
